Coversations with my almost three year olds......

Okay so when Adam gets home in the evening I tell him of course about the eventful day that I had with my girls. Lately the things that have been coming out of their mouth have just been cracking me up. I think it's because they say it with such gusto and have this look on their face like they are so serious about it. I can't believe how big they are getting. I laugh all day long. So, Adam told me I needed to write some of the things down that they say before I forget them so here they are. As you know my girls are for the most part potty trained. The only part that sometimes catches them off guard is the whole number two deal. They don't do it in their pants, they usually wait until at night when they have pull ups on. SO here is a converation that happened yesterday morning....

Mamma: Aislynn let me take your pull off off so we can get you in your big girl underwear and dressed for the day.

Aislynn: No mamma, you can't touch my bottom it's very dangerous.(and she's right sometimes it is)

Scenario 2:

Both girls are watching this disney show that comes on in the morning called Handy Manny. Well on this episode Manny was trying to get a hose to work to water the front lawn

Aislynn: Look mamma Manny has a hose just like daddy.

Mamma: Yes you are right we have one in the back yard to water the grass.

Aislynn. No mamma daddy has a hose for the potty. (at first I didn't get this, and then I looked at the way Manny had the hose positioned and realized what she meant and thought to myself, is this starting already?)

Scenario 3:
Aislynn: Look mamma what I found, I found your water(she's holding a glass with my water in it)

Bailey: No Aislynn you never ever touch mammas water, never ever do you want a time out!!
(at this point I am thinking umm I wonder where she learned that from, hopefully I am not that dramatic?)

Scenario 4:
Mamma: Bailey which underwear would you like to wear today( a choice between lady bugs and flowers)

Bailey: I want the lady bugs..(so we put the ladybugs on) then a few seconds later she comes running into tell me

Bailey: Mamma, my bottom doesn't like the ladybugs I want the flowers....( I had no clue that her bottom had a choice in these matters, but apparently it does)

Scenario 5:

The other day we were in the grocery store and a very kind muslim man and his baby walked by us and smiled a Bailey. He was wearing very beautiful middle eastern clothing and Bailey looked up at me and said "mamma it's Jesus". All though the store everytime she saw him that is what she would say. I would hope he would be flattered at her comment, after all out of the mouths of babes right?.

There are so many things my children do that make me laugh. I know I have forgotten a lot of them, and hopefully as times goes by I will remember them and write them down. I sometimes become sad thinking that they are getting so big. They are little girls with their own little opinions and little personalities. I cannot even begin to imagine my life without them. I feel so lucky to be able to experience the world through little eyes as if for the very first time. There is never a dull moment, there is never a moment where a teaching lesson can't be taught, but most of all there is never a moment where a hug, a kiss, a hand on the cheek, a snuggle(which are few and far between these days) doesn't send my heart reeling. How blessed we are to be parents, to be mothers.

Sick days and lounge days

Well this last week has been a sick week for our little kiddos. Aislynn was sick last week, but nothing major, just a cold. However our poor little Bailey who usually fights off everything she gets pretty quickly........
Came down with "The Flu". Yes "The Flu. She was running a temp of 104 and was so lethargic and just plain sick. We took her into urgent care and they told us she had the flu. She has been miserable. She has never in her short life ever been this sick. I have never seen her so lethargic. She is usually bouncing off the walls. She fell asleep on the couch on me. She was so hot that she didn't want anything on, especially panties. She kept saying that everything hurt her, which I am sure it did. Aislynn so lovingly placed this blanket on her.
This is the third day into it and she is still pretty miserable. I can tell she is getting slightly better, a little more energy. This is both my cuties on my bed this morning. Bailey just wanted to stay there all day.
Here is another couch shot. Poor thing. I really hate when they are sick. As a mother you feel ver helpless. Since the flu is viral it's a wait it out thing. They gave her antibiotics just to fight off any secondary infection, but thats about it.
This is my litte cutie. Does she look miserable or what? Her eyes were so blood shot the first couple of days because her fever was so high it broke blood vessels in her eyes. Her poor nose is so raw. Well, that is what we have been up to at our house. If you come visit we have lots of sanitizer!!!

A Fun Day Out!

As you can see our family had a wonderful family outing on Saturday. The girls had been so good and we hadn't done anything for a while so we decided to take them to an Oceanographic Museum that is fairly close to us. They have great touch tanks there for the girls to touch sting rays and other sea life. This happened to be their favorite. There is a huge pool with a very shallow part where the girls could lean over and touch the stingrays. I have to admit I had never touched one before, and to be quite honest it was very neat. They actually love to be touched. They would come up and wait for you to pet them. The girls were fascinated.
Bailey loved to touch them the most. She was not afraid at all. She spent a good 45 minutes just hanging over the side and waiting for the big ones(Mamma ones) or the baby ones to come and let her touch them. Aislynn was a little leary. She would put her hands in the water when she knew they were very far away. As soon as they started to come up to her hand area she would pull them out really fast and say "oooh gross".
Here she is admiring them from afar. She loved to look at them though and loved to see their tails and bodies. She just doesn't want to touch one anytime soon.
They also had a great little activity center where the girls could touch shells and rocks and other sea life things. They had magnifying glasses that the girls loved. There was so much for two busy hands to do.
Here is daddy reassuring the girls about the stingrays. He had a great time too. It was so much fun. It was also a beautiful day and the breeze was very cool. We then went on a nature walk and tired the girls and mamma out for the day. There are more pics to come. It was a good family day.
